Birds
Birds

As a child I often wondered what it would be like to be a bird. Whilst I can never know the answer to this childhood fancy, I enjoy observing their splendour in nature. Only rarely do I make an image that is more than a memento mori and worth showing here.

Sadly, once abundant species are frequently finding their way onto the amber or, worse still, the red watch lists. Here they seem to languish for a while before quietly fading away. How can we call this progress?

“I began to realise that the camera sees the world differently than the human eye and that sometimes those differences can make a photograph more powerful than what you actually observed.”
